Ocala officials are encouraging the public to take a visit to a local park that recently got a plant upgrade expected to draw more butterflies.
The Memories of Missing Smiles, Inc. (M.O.M.S.) Park recently received a new batch of pollinator plants, according to the Ocala Recreation and Parks Department.

“Come and witness the enchanting sight of beautiful butterflies fluttering around amidst vibrant blooms,” reads a statement from the organization.
Pollinator plants provide nectar and pollen for butterflies, bees, and other creatures who regularly pollinate plants. Examples include asters, marigolds, sunflowers, and zinnia, among many others.
Located at 3320 SE 17th Street in Ocala, M.O.M.S. Park opened to the public in 2011 as a memorial park to honor the children who have died in the Ocala community. The 5-acre park features multiple benches, a hiking-trail, and a small body of water.
