A Chinese restaurant in Ocala that failed four consecutive health inspections last Summer and then again earlier this year, was temporarily shut down last week after failing a ninth health inspection since August 8, 2023.
Wok ‘N Roll was forced to temporarily close its restaurant at 303 SE 17th Street, Unit 103, in Churchill Square on August 27 after an inspector cited the restaurant for 18 health code violations.
According to a report by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, during the visit, the inspector noted at least four high-priority violations in his report.
Among those violations was the presence of rodent activity, as evidenced by 17 droppings found behind a reach-in freezer chest next to the kitchen.
After they were brought to the employer’s attention, an employee swept and discarded the droppings.
Additionally, the report notes that one employee began working with food after handling pans that had been dropped on the floor without property washing his hands or wearing gloves.
The restaurant was reinspected on August 28 and was permitted to reopen after no violations were found.
Earlier this year, Wok ‘N Roll was closed for four days after failing multiple health inspections. Last year, a similar closure occurred for four days.
In April 2022, Wok ‘N Roll was forced to close for one day after a health inspector found hundreds of rodent droppings around the establishment.
