There is still time to register for an upcoming pickleball tournament for intermediate, mixed-double players that will be held at a local recreation center.

The “Battle of the Paddles” tournament will take place on Saturday, September 21, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed place, which is located at 1821 NW 21st Avenue in Ocala.

Hosted by the City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department, the pickleball tournament will kick off with spirited pool play. After pool play, a playoff will determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

The tournament will use a round robin format, with only the top four teams from pool play advancing to the single-elimination tournament. Each match will be played up to 11 points, best 2 out of 3 games.

The cost is $25 per 2 person team, and registration closes on September 19.
