Bill Kuhns passed away September 9th, 2024, at the age of 94. Born to Marie Yoder Kuhns and Charles Russel Kuhns from Bradford Pa., on July 8,1930.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carroll Yasher, his brother, Richard Kuhns and only son, Thomas Charles Kuhns.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Juanita “Doris” Kuhns. Three daughters; Wanita (Michael) Schoenbrod, Karene Kuhns Thornton, Michelle (Paul) Grune and daughter-in-law, Kathy Kuhns. Bill and Doris have 7 grandchildren: Thomas Kuhns II (Kathy), Hope Jones (Mitch Barton), Amy Kuhns Roberts, Erikka Stapler (Scott), Mike Schoenbrod II (Jessica), Lindsay Leeds (Andrew), Ashley Lynn (Jarrod), and 15 great grandchildren.
Bill worked for BF Goodrich in Akron, Ohio for 15 years before moving the family to Miami, Fl. to work for Cordis Corporation. Later, He worked several years for an Anodizing Company in Miami. Before retiring, he and Doris moved to Ocala, Fl. He was employed by Keebler Company, which he enjoyed very much. He was Governor of the Moose club in Ocala for some years. His belief in this charity (Known as “Boys Town”) stems from being raised in a Children’s home from age 7 -14.
He loved to golf, have family reunions, go to birthday parties and holiday gatherings with family and friends. Christmas was his favorite family time. With so many family members, each year we would have a large “Yankee Trade-Off” party at their home. This was the highlight of each year. He will be truly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, on October 19th at 11:00 a.m. 910 East Silver Springs Blvd. Ocala, Florida 34470.
