The Marion County Public Library System is inviting local children and their families to Fort King this weekend for an evening of spooky stories.

Stories Under the Stars: Phantoms in the Fort will be held from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Fort King National Historic Landmark, which is located at 3925 E Fort King Street in Ocala.

The family-friendly event will feature stories of the “strange and eerie.” The event will begin with kid-friendly activities from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., then fun tales at 7 p.m., and the stories will get a bit spookier from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

There is no cost to attend the event, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs, blankets, and snacks.

Stories Under the Stars: Phantoms in the Fort is presented in partnership with the Ocala Recreation and Parks Department, Fort King National Historic Landmark, and the Marion County Public Library System.

Parking will be offered at the Klein Lot and ADA Parking will be available on site.
