Belleview Police Department is asking the public for help in locating a 60-year-old man who went missing from a local assisted living facility on Wednesday evening.

William “Bill” Matthew Ous was last seen at Prestige Manor III at 6333 SE Babb Road in Belleview on Wednesday, November 20, at around 5 p.m.

According to authorities, Ous previously went missing from the facility before he was located at SE Baseline Road/SR 40 in Ocala.

Ous stands 5’10” tall, weighs 150 pounds, has blue eyes and gray hair. He is diagnosed with several health conditions and requires daily medication. Family told officers that Ous is unfamiliar with Marion County and that he still believes he lives in Connecticut.

Staff from the assisted living facility shared a photo taken of Ous on Tuesday, November 19. Although they are unsure what he was wearing when he left the facility, they believe Ous may be dressed similarly.

Ous has family members who live in Silver Springs Shores and they suspect that is where he may be trying to go.

On Wednesday night, BPD officers, a K-9 team from the Florida Department of Corrections, and members of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, including the aviation unit, all conducted an extensive search in the surrounding area.

“Efforts to locate William remain ongoing at this time,” reads a statement from BPD.
