To the Editor:

I have lived in Ocala most of my life, at least full-time since 1979. I was born here in 1952.

I have to say, to the transplants that have moved here who complain about the traffic: Most of the problems have come from all who move here wanting to move out on State Road 200.

You never think about moving to other parts of the city, as there are lots of housing developments going up all over.

You bring your big city driving here. Like the saying goes, “in a New York minute.” We were a very calm town called “SLOWCALA” until everyone decided to come to live here.

Just slow down enjoy the scenery, be courteous drivers.

I have to say you, expect Ocala to be how it was like where you lived. Did you do your thorough research before moving here? I bet a lot didn’t.

With all the citizens moving out on State Rd 200, it has caused too many businesses to move out that way to accommodate all of you. So, think about what you as a citizen has caused for that area to grow faster than the county to keep up with your growth.

I remember when it was a two-lane road and no construction past where I-75 was put in, causing growth to move that way.

I, as a citizen of Ocala, have asked for more businesses to move east and north so we don’t have to drive to that highly congested part of town.

If I had my choice, I would stay on the east and north east side just to avoid that part of town.

How many times do we on the northeast side have to ask for more businesses to come over here?
