“I live off SE 36 Avenue. If you have never been on SE Maricamp Rd, then you need to take a little drive, once you get past SE 25th Ave where SE 17th St turns into Maricamp Rd, you will notice we have hardly have any restaurants. We have lived in this area since 1972 and we do have more than we did when we built our home. We do have Grace Japanese Steak House, Pig and Cattle and a Waffle House. In 53 years that is all of the restaurants we have. It seems our County Commission and City Council thinks everyone lives off ST. RD 200. Everyone out this way including the people who live in Silver Springs Shores has to drive across town to find a steak house like Long Horn or Out Back at least the people in Silver Springs got a Out Back. We have nothing and forget going downtown if you can not walk most older people can not walk from the current parking garage and around the square there is three Handicap spots why only three why not more so young and those healthy enough to walk would have to use the parking garage? One of the reason I ask for restaurants in our area in our area is traffic and the other I believe the SW – 200 ares has enough restaurants” – Pat Savage, Ocala

“We need more stores like Sprouts, Trader Joes, even a Lowes or Home Depot, because we play hell getting out of the Shores. The traffic is getting bad and there are enough people now living here. It only makes traffic worse driving in town to shop the stores we want. Living out in the Shores, we are treated like we don’t deserve quality stores. Instead of building a Walmart on 36th Ave and 17th where, Winn-Dixie was, put a big Spouts or Target. We do not need more Walmarts. We want a variety”Ruby Hanrahan, Ocala
