A well known bar in northeast Marion County closed its doors this past weekend after 34 years in business.

Cactus Jack’s officially closed the doors on its iconic bar on February 1.

Located at 23740 NE Hwy 314 on Lake Kerr, owners Buzzy and Lynn Wiseman announced the closure in January.

“It is with a heavy heart that we must announce, Cactus Jack’s will be closd as of Sat., Feb. 1st, until further notice,” reads a statement issued by Mrs. Wiseman on January 13.

According to Wiseman, the RV park next to the bar will remain open. She says she and her husband will now turn their attention to Buzzy’s health, as he has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

“Buzzy has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and I need to focus all of my time and energy on his health and medical treatment,” reads the statement from Mrs. Wiseman.

The couple hosted a final celebration on Friday, January 31, for their loyal customers and friends.

“We sincerely appreciate your support and friendship for the past 34 years. On behalf of the whole Cactus Jack’s Crew, we want to say thank you,” reads the post.
