Amidst their return to Ocala for Live Oak International, the Budweiser Clydesdales paraded through downtown Ocala this week in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.
The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales paraded through Ocala on Monday evening in front of hundreds of local residents.
The eight horses pulled their red beer wagon in a special appearance made possible by local Anheuser-Busch beverage distributor, Tri-Eagle Sales.

“The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales are an enduring symbol of tradition, strength, and the Budweiser legacy. Bringing them to Ocala, the Horse Capital of the World, celebrates the city’s deep equestrian roots while creating an unforgettable experience for the community” said Tripp Transou IV, President of Tri-Eagle Sales.
During Monday’s festivities, the horses made various stops around the downtown area to interact with the community.
The Ocala Police Department shared photos of its mounted unit participating in the festivities, and Mayor Ben Marciano was able to take a ride atop the red wagon.

Clydesdales were first brought to the United States of America in the mid-1800s. Currently, the horses are used primarily for breeding and show, making hundreds of annual appearances.
Horses that are selected for the Budweiser Clydesdale hitch must be at least four years of age, stand approximately 18 hands – or six feet – at the shoulder, weigh an average of 2,000 pounds, must be bay in color, have four white legs, a blaze of white on the face, and a black mane and tail.

A gentle temperament is also vital since the hitch horses meet millions of people each year.
