Law enforcement authorities are seeking information on a vehicle that struck and seriously injured an Ocala man who was walking on a grass shoulder along a Marion County roadway.
The hit-and-run crash took place near the intersection of County Road 42 and SE 203rd Avenue in Umatilla on Monday, March 17 at around 2:30 a.m.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 27-year-old man from Ocala was walking west alongside CR 42, within the grass shoulder of the highway.
At the same time, an unknown vehicle traveled off the roadway and collided with the man.
According to FHP, the Ocala man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
After the vehicle struck the man, it fled from the scene.
