To the Editor:
In 1968, you could drive all over Florida without traffic. That was almost 60 years ago. Unfortunately, places grow.
By the 1990s, Palm Beach County was getting way to overgrown and we checked out Ocala, which was almost like going back in time. So we moved there.
Gainesville, being a college town, had more action and was fun to go to. I don’t go north to Gainesville anymore, as it’s overbuilt and traffic produces accidents just waiting to happen.
People come here to get away from “city manicness” and they want this and that to be built so that it becomes the overbuilt area that they wanted to get away from.
Ocala still has farmland to grow, what we need is to raise livestock. Let’s preserve what we have left.
If you want more action, take the hour drive to Daytona, Orlando, Jacksonville or wherever; just don’t help Ocala become like them.
