AdventHealth Ocala cut the ribbon on a new, 57,000-square-foot medical office building near downtown, just over a year after breaking ground on the project.
City and county officials gathered on Thursday, June 12, to cut the ribbon on the new facility.
Located at 1219 S Pine Avenue, AdventHealth Ocala broke ground on the project in April 2024. It is situated just south of downtown Ocala, in front of the main AdventHealth Ocala facility (1500 SW 1st Avenue).
According to the organization, the new building will provide services for the cardiovascular, neuroscience, orthopedics, and women’s health departments at the hospital.
The site of the new medical office building previously housed the Marion County Utilities Administration. That building was eventually demolished and the lot sat vacant for multiple years.
Before last year’s groundbreaking, construction crews used the site as a de facto parking lot.
