Detectives are investigating a stabbing incident in Ocala that claimed the life of a 62-year-old man on Tuesday night.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 4000 block of W Highway 326 in Ocala at around 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, after receiving reports that an individual had been stabbed.
When deputies arrived on-scene, they located a male victim – later identified as William Kennedy III – who was lying on the ground and suffering from multiple stab wounds. The deputies immediately began rendering medical aid until paramedics reached the incident location and transported Kennedy to a local hospital.
While at the hospital, Kennedy sadly succumbed to his injuries.
MCSO stated on social media that its Major Crimes detectives are conducting a homicide investigation, and they have identified a possible suspect in this case.
As of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, detectives are still actively searching for the suspect.
Investigators believe that the fatal stabbing is an “isolated incident,” according to MCSO.
