To the Editor:

I am curious as to who has voted the weasels in to occupy the commissioner seats. Folks attend meetings to voice their sentiments to stall more development until infrastructure can catch up, only to fall on deaf ears.

Crime has ballooned, but not so much to blame our law enforcement. The reality is that there is too much going on and not sufficient resources to service what is required.

And don’t get me started on the theft of protected farm land that was set aside for posterity to enjoy wide open spaces, only to have the gluttonous billionaires usurp it for a monstrous athletic center. Gone are the ostrich/emus that our kids lived to see when driving on NW 80th. A stone’s throw to the north is a huge UF athletic facility, a quick drive south of us is Tampa and Orlando.

I have been a resident of Ocala for 40 years. I loved the slower pace, the genuine caring for this lively town. These wholesome values have fallen victim to greed and perversion. Almost daily, we discover children molested by trusted teachers or coaches, and beastiality is thriving in our town.

Let’s stop developing and growing for a bit, catch our collected breaths, and put a plan together and take back control of Ocala’s development before we find ourselves in the Top 25 cities in America’s Crappy Places to Live.

That will knock our home values down further.

Don’t get me started on higher property taxes and lowered value of our homes; I don’t have enough ink for that.

One last thing, and likely my tirade won’t make it to print, but at the next election, please Ocala, do not vote those in office to keep their seats.

They have made a fortune and enough is enough.

Let’s make Ocala healthy again.
