An Ocala man was arrested for loitering and prowling earlier this month after he was allegedly caught masturbating outside of a nursing home resident’s window.
On Monday, October 13, an Ocala Police Department officer responded to a nursing home located on SW 1st Avenue in reference to a man who was “pleasuring himself” in front of one of the windows. Upon arrival, the officer observed a vehicle that was parked directly in front of the window in question, according to the arrest report.
The officer noted in the report that the vehicle had its headlights off, and the engine was running. When another officer approached the vehicle, a man – later identified as Albert Michael Gay – was allegedly observed lying on the front passenger seat.
Gay allegedly stated that he had “dropped his cellphone and wallet” inside the vehicle. After stating that the vehicle belonged to a relative who did not reside at the nursing home, Gay was detained while an investigation into the incident was conducted, according to the report.
During an interview, Gay claimed that he was “coming from the Shores and going to McDonald’s.” When asked why he did not go to a McDonald’s in the Shores, he allegedly stated that he was “already in town” and planned on going to a fast-food restaurant near the incident location.
The report stated that Gay further advised that he pulled into the parking lot near the nursing home to “locate his wallet his phone.” While speaking with Gay, an officer observed that his wallet was “in plain view” on the back seat.
The nursing home resident (victim) who reported the incident involving Gay alleged that he had stood in front of her window while “making the gesture like he was pleasuring himself.” The victim told Gay to leave, and he eventually walked away from the window, according to the victim’s statement.
The victim advised that she did not see Gay’s penis during the incident.
A criminal history search of Gay revealed that OPD has had multiple interactions with Gay involving “similar incidents.” Marion County Jail records further show that Gay was arrested for indecent exposure in 2019.
Gay was placed under arrest and booked into Marion County Jail. Two days later, he was released after posting bond, and he is being charged with loitering and prowling.
On Wednesday, November 12, Gay is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m., according to jail records.
