An Ocala woman has sued Walmart after she allegedly slipped on a liquid while walking down an aisle, fell, and sustained injuries.
Lekisha Johnson filed the lawsuit against Wal-Mart Stores East, LP, in the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County on October 2.
According to the complaint, Johnson visited the Walmart located at 2600 SW 19th Avenue Road in Ocala on August 29, 2022.
During her visit, Johnson allegedly walked down one of the aisles at the store and “slipped and fell on a liquid substance.”
After she fell, Johnson claims she suffered injuries that have persisted several years later.
Johnson’s attorneys claim Walmart had a duty to warn its customers of any “latent conditions” that it knew about or should have known about. They accuse the retailer of knowing of the hazardous condition and not addressing it.
Johnson is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages, exclusive of legal fees.
