Multiple injuries have been reported as a result of different accidents on northbound Interstate 75 in Marion County this afternoon, including one hit-and-run crash that’s left a road block and caused heavy congestion.

Live accident data maintained by the Florida Highway Patrol shows that four separate incidents have been recorded along the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 on Friday afternoon.

Additionally, videos maintained by the Florida Department of Transportation show delays in both the north and south lanes of the highway near mile marker 340.

The first afternoon crash was reported at 2:52 p.m. near mile marker 350. The only details available show that authorities were dispatched at 2:54 p.m. and arrived at 3:15 p.m. The crash resulted in a lane being blocked.

Another crash was reported at 3:31 p.m. in the same vicinity as the first incident. Shortly thereafter, at around 3:38 p.m., a hit-and-run crash that resulted in unspecified injuries occurred near mile marker 342.

Finally, a fourth crash was reported at 3:47 p.m. near mile marker 348.

As of 4:10 p.m., there are still road and lane blocks in place along parts of northbound I-75 in Marion County. Motorists are advised to take alternative routes and prepare for delays.
