A historic landmark in Ocala will open its doors for an archeologist dig and lunch this weekend, inviting guests to review artifacts and learn about excavations.
The free event will take place on Friday, April 24, from11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fort King National Historic Landmark, which is located at 3925 East Fort King Street in Ocala.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, pack a lunch and join the community for Lunch with an Archaeologist.
During the event, attendees will learn about the history of Fort King, explore the artifacts uncovered on the site, and enjoy a live question and answer session with one of the archaeologists.
This program is for ages 13 and up.
