Pile of $100 bills

A lottery ticket worth over $100,000 was sold at a gas station in the south part of Marion County this week.

A winning ticket for the Fantasy 5 evening drawing was sold at the Quick King Food Store #8 (14725 U.S. Hwy 441) in Summerfield on Wednesday, May 6.

The ticket was a “QuickPick” and was the only top-prize winning ticket sold for that specific drawing, resulting in a total prize amount of $117,957.17.

Fantasy 5 is a daily game where players choose five numbers from 1 to 36. The winning numbers for Wednesday’s evening drawing were 6, 9, 11, 17, and 31.

While the Summerfield ticket took the entire top prize for the May 6 drawing, the following evening’s drawing on May 7 saw the top prize split between two winners in Wilton Manors and Live Oak, who each took home $57,456.33.

The winning Fantasy 5 ticket sold in Marion County is one of several that have been claimed by local residents this year.

In late March, two Fantasy 5 tickets were sold at the same Publix, less than two days apart.

Earlier this year, another winning Fantasy 5 lottery ticket was sold at a Pilot Travel Center next to The Villages.

Last December, another Marion County resident won over $67,000 from a winning Fantasy 5 ticket.
