Lary Steven Bass, of Belleview, Florida, has passed from this earth on April 25, 2026. Lary was born to Joe and Edith Bass on August 8, 1962, in Ocala, Florida. Lary grew up in Ocala, where he graduated from Vanguard High School. He had a love to play music. He was in the Marching Band at Vanguard HS and marched so proudly at football games and Christmas Parades.
Lary was so loving and captured everyone’s heart. Everyone’s friend. He met the love of his life, Joanne Florio, and were married. They had two sons, Shane and Casey.
Lary was employed by Winn-Dixie Super Markets, Nabisco Cookie Company and Specialty Food Distributors. He was retired.
Lary is survived by his two sons, Steven Shane Bass and Richard Casey Bass, two grandson, Keaton and Carter Bass. Lary is also survived two brothers, Joey (Sandra) of Flemington, Florida, Rick (Shelia) of Molino, Florida, three sisters, Phylis of Ocala, Missy of Ocala and Paula of Paisley, Florida, and his stepmother, Sue Crumb.
Preceeding Lary in death are his parents, Joe and Edith Bass and a step brother, Brad Metheny.
A Memorial will be held to celebrate Lary’s life on Friday Evening, June 19, 2026 at 6:30 p.m., New Life Pentecostal Church of Ocala, 5300 E. Silver Springs Blvd. Silver Springs, Florida. 34488.
