Esther J. Holmes, age 88, passed away on June 18, 2026.

Esther was born on April 14, 1938, in Hialeah, Florida, to her parents, Lisle Elphanso Tibbits and Gertrude Pollyann Hunter. She lived a life centered on faith, family, love, and kindness.

Esther was an amazing, sweet, and loving woman who was truly one of a kind. She had a gentle spirit and a caring heart that touched everyone who knew her. She was an incredible listener, always willing to lend an ear, offer encouragement, or simply be present for those she loved. Her family meant everything to her, and she devoted her life to caring for and supporting them.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Esther loved feeding the birds, tending to her garden, and spending time outdoors enjoying nature. She was also a wonderful cook whose kitchen was often filled with warmth, love, and the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals. Her famous black-eyed peas were a favorite among family and friends and became a cherished tradition at many family gatherings.

Her faith was an important part of her life and guided her with grace, compassion, and strength throughout the years. Those who knew Esther will remember her for her sweet nature, generous heart, and unwavering love for her family.

Esther is survived by her children, Ginger (Felix) Dominguez and Kim (Richard) Matson; her grandchildren, Juan Bengoa, Jonathan Dominguez, and Natacha Matson; her cherished great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Beers, Jax Matson, Stella Dominguez, and Dash Dominguez; her brother, Neal Tibbits; and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lisle Elphanso Tibbits and Gertrude Pollyann Hunter, as well as her brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be held on June 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Roberts of Ocala Funeral Home, 606 SW 2nd Avenue, Ocala, Florida 34471. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

Esther will be remembered for her loving heart, her unwavering faith, her devotion to family, and the kindness she shared so freely with others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
