Gelisandra La Santa, affectionately known as Sandy, passed away on May 30, 2026, in Ocala, Florida, at the age of 51. She was born on March 12, 1975, in Jersey City, New Jersey, and lived a life marked by love, devotion, and a warm spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

Sandy will be remembered most for the deep love she held for her family and the joy she found in the simple, meaningful moments of everyday life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around her. She carried herself with a generous heart and a caring nature, always willing to help others whenever they needed her. Her kindness was evident in the way she showed up for the people she loved, and her family knew they could always count on her.

She loved doing nails, listening to music, and painting, and these interests reflected her creative and expressive spirit. Sandy is survived by her husband, Zaquiris La Santa; her children, Essence Rios, Steven Rios, Joshua Rodriguez, and Angelita Woods; and her seven grandchildren, who brought her great pride and happiness. She is also survived by her mother, Angelita Perez; her siblings, Juan Rodriguez, Angelica Cabrera, and Reinaldo Cabrera Jr.; as well as her nieces and nephews and a host of family members and friends who will continue to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her son, Geofrey Rios, whom she loved dearly and carries in the hearts of those who remember her.

Those who knew Sandy will remember her as a woman of strength, compassion, and unwavering love. She had a way of making people feel seen and cared for, and her generosity extended beyond her immediate family to anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Her life was a reflection of devotion to the people she loved, and her legacy will live on through the many lives she influenced with her kindness and support.

Although her passing leaves a deep void, Sandy’s memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to her family and friends.
