With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Francis Sanchez, a devoted mother, wife, and pillar of her community, who left this world on July 1, 2026. Francis was 85 years young when she departed, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness.

Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, on December 3, 1940, to loving parents Francisca Rosario-Mercado and Luis Rosario-Pérez, Francis grew up with a strong faith and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. She was the devoted wife of the late Ramon Sanchez Sr. and her son, Ramon Sanchez Jr., who predeceased her.

Francis is survived by her son, Eduardo Sanchez of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and her four grandchildren, whom she lovingly cherished and guided. Her impact on their lives will be deeply felt for years to come.

Throughout her life, Francis found joy in her devotion to her church and community. Despite facing numerous health challenges with remarkable courage and resilience, she remained a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering compassion earned her the love and respect of countless friends and acquaintances.

Francis’s selflessness and kindness extended far beyond her immediate circle. She was always willing to lend a listening ear, offer a helping hand, or provide a comforting presence when needed most. Her gift for empathy and understanding made her a beloved figure in every community she touched.

As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we take comfort in the knowledge that her spirit will continue to illuminate our lives. Though she may be gone from our sight, her light will forever walk beside us, guiding us toward kindness, compassion, and love.
