The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a 38-year-old Dunnellon woman who went missing under concerning circumstances on Wednesday morning.
Teresa Capps Martyn was last seen at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, in the 5100 block of SW Azalea Court in Dunnellon.
According to a statement issued by MCSO, witnesses reported seeing Martyn yelling for help before she went missing.
Deputies located Martyn’s vehicle abandoned on the side of the road in the Rainbow Park Estates area later on Wednesday. Her phone and wallet were both left behind inside the vehicle.
Martyn is described as a white female, 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a red crop top, a white skirt, and red-and-black Jordan sneakers.
Investigators note that one of her shoes was recovered near the location where she was last seen, meaning she may be wearing only one shoe or could be barefoot.
