Marion County officials and local residents gathered on Thursday morning to celebrate the grand opening of the Silver Springs Shores Public Library.
The celebration took place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, outside the newly renovated facility located at 525 Spring Lake Road in Ocala.

A large crowd of community members, library staff, local officials and children gathered at the facility for the ceremony. Several Marion County leaders offered remarks about the restored facility, which replaces the former youth center.
Following the ribbon-cutting, attendees flooded into the facility to tour the transformed space. The new branch is situated just west of the Silver Springs Shores Community Center.

The adaptive reuse project was funded through federal Community Development Block Grant funding administered by Marion County Community Services, giving the former facility a complete makeover into a modern public library hub.
