New names for Ocala Regional Medical Center and West Marion Community Hospital

Ocala Regional Medical Center and West Marion Community Hospital recently joined over 450 affiliated sites of care across Florida to unite under a shared brand: HCA Florida Healthcare.

Due to this transformation, both local hospitals have new names. Ocala Regional Medical Center has become HCA Florida Ocala Hospital (1431 SW 1st Avenue), and West Marion Community Hospital is now HCA Florida West Marion Hospital (4600 SW 46th Court in Ocala).

HCA Florida Ocala Hospital stated on its Facebook webpage that, “Our name has changed, but we have always been part of HCA and our mission is above all else: we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.”

HCA Florida Healthcare will connect approximately 11,000 physicians and 77,000 colleagues serving their communities at 49 hospital campuses, more than 350 physician practices and freestanding emergency rooms, and over 50 urgent care centers, according to a press release.

Chuck Hall, national group president at HCA Healthcare, said, “This transition reflects our mission and our commitment to all we serve as we continue to work together to deliver high-quality care for patients across the Sunshine State.”

There are multiple freestanding emergency rooms in Marion and Sumter counties that are also a part of the HCA system:

  • HCA Florida Maricamp Emergency (2897 SE Maricamp Road in Ocala).
  • HCA Florida Summerfield Emergency (14193 U.S. 27/441 in Summerfield).
  • HCA Florida Trailwinds Village Emergency (6131 Seven Mile Drive in Wildwood).
