A recreational vehicle that was parked at a property in Ocala was consumed by fire on Monday.

Ocala Fire Rescue units responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the 200 block of NW 9th Street at around 4:55 p.m. on Monday, March 24.

According to a statement from OFR, at least eight responding units found columns of black smoke visible for a distance as they approached the scene.

Upon arrival, crews encountered an RV engulfed in flames. The fire was also spreading to a neighboring tree next to where the RV was parked.

Multiple lines were deployed to combat and extinguish the fires on the RV and the tree.

Firefighters were able to take control of the fire shortly thereafter. According to OFR, the RV was unoccupied at the time of the fire, resulting in no injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
