A 13-year-old in a stolen vehicle was arrested Monday after stealing a gun from a car in a tony Ocala subdivision.
Zyaire Keashion Evans of Jacksonville had been at the wheel of a 2003 Chevy S-10 at about 9:37 a.m. which was involved in a collision with another vehicle, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
He then fled on foot into the Irish Acres Subdivision. He burglarized several vehicles, taking a gun from one of them. As he was leaving, he pointed the gun at people in the subdivision.
Marion County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Florida Highway Patrol troopers set up a perimeter and the suspect was located in a wooded area by sheriff’s office K-9 deputies.
Evans was arrested on multiple charges.
