Ocala woman who failed to pay child support arrested on drug charges

Tabitha Pearl Ankiewicz

An Ocala woman who failed to pay child support was arrested on drug charges on Monday in Marion County.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 blue Dodge Neon driven by 30-year-old Tabitha Pearl Ankiewicz after she was caught running a stop sign at SE 91st Terrace and SE 114th Lane, according to an arrest report. Deputies made contact with Ankiewicz who advised that her license was not valid due to failure to pay child support.

A search on Ankiewicz’s records confirmed her license was suspended in August. A K-9 deputy conducted a search on the vehicle, in which the K-9 alerted to the possible presence of narcotics inside her vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up a syringe on the floorboard, two small baggies with a residue in the console, and two cut up pieces of cigarette filters which were discolored and appeared to have been used to absorb something, the report stated.

Ankiewicz advised deputies that she used the syringe to inject suboxone. She also said the filters were used for suboxone. The residue discovered field tested positive for the presence of opiates.

She was placed under arrest and transported to Marion County Jail. Bond was set at $3,500.
