Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods joined with others from his staff and those across the county, the Sunshine State and the nation as they proudly wore “Forest” green Friday in support of Forest High School.
The gesture was to show support for the students, teachers, staff and administrators at the facility where a school shooting took place April 20. Marion County Dep. Jim Long, who serves as a school resource officer at Forest High, apprehended the suspect, 19-year-old Sky Bouche, within three minutes of hearing the shotgun blast that injured a 17-year-old student.
