Ocala woman hospitalized and ticketed after car collides with school bus

An Ocala woman was taken to The Villages Regional Hospital after her car struck the rear of a school bus Friday afternoon at U.S. 301 and County Road 466.

Candida Perez, 59, was traveling westbound on County Road 466 and making a right turn onto U.S. 301 in her 2003 Toyota Matrix when the collision occurred. She was ticketed on a charge of improper lane change, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

The school bus, driven by Andrea Tamara Williams, 53, of Coleman, was traveling northbound on U.S. 301 and had the green light when the crash occurred. Neither Williams or any of the 25 children onboard the bus were injured.
