Social media war turns violent when woman clashes with 16-year-old

Danisha Latavia Wilson

A social media dispute became violent Monday when a woman drove from Leesburg to Lady Lake to confront a 16-year-old face to face.

According to a Lady Lake Police report, 22-year-old Danisha Latavia Wilson, of Eustis, was arrested at 11 a.m. Monday after she drove to a home on Hibiscus Street in Lady Lake “with the intent to cause physical harm to the victim.” That confrontation quickly became a reality, with the teenage victim needing treatment from local EMS personnel after the fight, the report says.

Wilson was taken into custody near the intersection of Lake Ella Road and April Hills Boulevard. She admitted to Lady Lake officers that the fight was over a dispute between the two on social media.

Wilson was transported to the Lake County Jail and charged with battery. She was released later that afternoon on $1,000 bond.
