Deputies find roofer sought in battery on pregnant woman

Ryan Austin White

An Ocala-area roofer was arrested Tuesday on an outstanding warrant in connection with a battery case last month involving a pregnant woman.

Ryan Austin White, 25, who works at A+ All Pro Roofing in Ocala, was taken into custody Tuesday night and charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant victim. He was being held on $25,000 bond.

Deputies first started looking for White on July 29 after being called to a hotel on E. Silver Springs Blvd. by a woman who claimed she was involved in two physical altercations with him. She told deputies that White came home from work that day and “immediately began speaking to her disrespectfully.” She said she believed he was under the influence of drugs and that he had had shoved her off the bed while calling her derogatory names.

The woman, who told deputies that White knew she was pregnant, said he also picked up her cell phone and threw it to the ground. She said the hotel manager ordered White to leave, but he returned that same afternoon and started violently kicking the door of her room unit the frame broke and it was forced open.

The woman said she feared for her life and ran into the parking lot to get away from White. She said the same manager told White, who has been in the Marion County Jail nine times since December 2011, that she was calling for help and he “jumped on his bicycle and rode away.”

The warrant for White’s arrest was issued Aug. 17 and he was picked up Tuesday night and booked into the jail at 10:05. He is scheduled to appear in a Marion County courtroom on Sept. 25 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charge.
