Hubert T. Norton

Hubert T. Norton, 85, of Ocala, FL, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018.

A native Floridian, he was born in Jacksonville, FL and was a member of Downtown First Baptist Church for 36 years. After moving to Ocala in 1992, he became a member of First Baptist Church in Ocala.

Norton served 42 years in the Florida Air National Guard and retired as Chief Master Sgt. The 159th was one of the 1st units called to duty in the Korean War in October of 1950. At the time of his retirement in 1991, he was serving as Munitions and Weapons Maintenance Supervisor for the 125th Air National Guard in Jacksonville, FL. He was a sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the Florida Gators. He was a man of faith who loved his family unconditionally, a true southern gentleman.

Hubert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Brunell Norton of Ocala, two daughters; Teresa (Steve) Norton Pace and Kathy Norton, and niece Pat (Tom) Anderson. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 6, at 12 noon with receiving of friends one hour prior at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34470 (352)-629-7171. Burial will follow (private), at Highland Memorial Park in Ocala.
