Doris Joyner Ellzey went to be with the Lord on September 29,2018. She was 89 years of age.
A lifelong resident of Ocala, she was born to F.L. and Lillian Avis Joyner on July 2, 1929. She graduated from Ocala High School, and went to work for the old Monroe and Chambliss Bank. After her marriage to Harold Douglas Ellzey of Otter Creek, FL., she became a full time wife and mother of four children. Doris and Harold were charter members of the Highlands Baptist Church for many years and she later and currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Ocala.
Doris is survived by her sister, Lois Joyner Parnelle, sons Harold Douglas Jr. (Karen), Michael Lee (Kandi), Todd Alan (Elizabeth) and Ross Brent. She is also survived by nine grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Douglas Ellzey, brother in Law, Robert Eustice Parnelle and parents F. L. and Lillian Avis Joyner.Â
The family will be receiving friends at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 910 Silver Springs Blvd on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with Doris’s Celebration of Life starting at 11:00 am with Dr. Ed Johnson leading the celebration.
