A Micanopy man went berserk after being arrested early Thursday, kicking the back window and banging his head against the bars in the patrol car before having to be manually restrained multiple times.
Trevone M. Manning, 28, of 21055 Hwy. 441 in Micanopy, then continued to be disruptive in the Marion County Jail to the point where a detention deputy had to use an electronic disabling Taser to subdue him, according to a Marion County Sheriff’s Office report.
Manning had been charged with criminal mischief and resisting arrest after an incident that started when deputies responded to a disturbance call shortly after midnight. When they arrived at the Manning home, they found his mother and him yelling outside. Manning then ran inside while yelling profanities, the report says.
Manning’s mother told the deputy that her son was very upset and acting erratically. When a deputy knocked on the door, he could hear loud yelling and stomping inside. Manning then swung open the door and started tearing through the screen door. He ran down the steps of the house and punched a large dent into the driver’s side of a vehicle before being detained.
Once inside the patrol car, Manning became combative and was placed in a hobble device. En route to the jail, he managed to get his seat belt off and started to hit his head again, saying he would not stop being physically resistant until he was let go. Deputies placed him in a total appendage restraint that he was able to slip out of and start kicking the door again.
Manning’s resistant behavior continued until he was tased at the jail. He was released Thursday night after posting $1,500 bond. No court date was set.
