Richard Fleck

Richard Fleck

Richard Fleck, 84, of Ocala, Florida passed away on January 14, 2019. Richard was born on November 26, 1934 to Anne Marie and Raymond Fleck in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Richard was married to the love of his life, Ruth, for 62 beautiful years until her passing February 10, 2018.

Richard joined the Navy in 1952. He was honorably discharged in December of 1956 with a rank of Radarman First Class, serving during the Korean War. Richard and Ruthie remained in Pennsylvania until the early 60’s when they decided to live their dream and moved to North Miami, FL. After moving to Miami, Richard worked as a salesman for Sears. Richard and Ruthie moved to Ocala in 1979 and opened a restaurant called ‘SuperBurger.’ He also worked for Big Sandy’s Superstore for several decades and retired from sales of preened funeral planning at Good Shepherd. Richard was an excellent husband, father, uncle, and pet dad. His most rewarding accomplishments were being a great family man and provider.

Richard retired in 2002, after which he spent his time with his bride, Ruthie, and pets. They traveled and just enjoyed their time with family and their animals. They lived out their retirement years in the family home that they built after they moved to Ocala. They shared their land with their horse, Chyna; dogs, Honey, Princess, Lassie, Brady and Apollo; and ponies, Lightning and Thunder.

Richard will be joining the Kingdom of God, met with open arms by his love, Ruthie; his beloved niece, Maryann; and his mother, Anne Marie.

Richard passed in the family home with his son, Tom, Tom’s fiancé, Elijah, his daughter, Marianne, his best friend, Sharon and his beloved dog, Honey around him. He will be missed greatly, but never forgotten. Richard’s words of wisdom and his love will remain in our hearts forever.

Richard is survived by his son, Thomas Fleck; and his fiancé, Elijah Rooney; daughter, Marianne; son-in-law, Daniel Alicea; grandson, Christian; sister-in-law, Doris Osman; nieces, Debra Faflik and Susan Burkett; nephew, Jeffery Smith; and his beloved dog, Honey.
