A 20-year-old Ocala man who was not wearing a seatbelt died at the scene of a crash Saturday morning at U.S. Hwy. 441 and U.S. 301 in Marion County.
Kyle Kinsey was at the wheel of a 2006 Chevy 2500 at 7:30 a.m. heading north on U.S. Hwy. 441 when his vehicle veered onto the west grass shoulder, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. He overcorrected and the vehicle hit a power pole before overturning.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue.
Kinsey was a 2017 graduate of Forest High School. Kinsey’s former teacher, Shannon Kirby Kwiatkowski had kind words for the former student.
“Kyle was the second ‘Kinsey kid’ I had the pleasure of teaching. This isn’t the time for preaching or should haves: love one another. It’s always too soon to lose a loved one, but this is extra too soon. Prayers for peace and comfort to his family, sister Katie, and his many friends. Kyle, we will miss you and your happy smile,” Kwiatkowski wrote online.
