If you are looking for chicken wings, larger-than-life shakes, and a dash of nostalgia from the 60s, you may want to try a new restaurant along E State Road 40.
Open Haus, which opened its doors this past February, is the newest tenant of a location (3105 E Silver Springs Blvd) that has seen a variety of restaurants in its history.
The restaurant has been remodeled and renovated entirely, offering a full bar and shake station in addition to an eclectic mix of modern fixtures and nostalgic comfort foods.
The menu is chicken-heavy, with salads, tenders, pasta, and the staple chicken wings that the restaurant offers in a variety of flavors, including an “Ocala Hot” that tastes similar to traditional hot Buffalo sauce.
Items like “disco fries” and fried pickles are sure to fill those with an itch for fried comfort, or possibly a hangover.
In addition to lunch, dinner and a variety of appetizers, the restaurant offers a handful of luxury shakes that are topped with desserts, in addition to classic Coke/Root beer floats.
