Due to the necessary replacement of the existing potable water main on S Magnolia Avenue, the City of Ocala will install a new water main from Fort King Street to SW Eighth Street. During construction for this project, S Magnolia Avenue will be reduced to one southbound traffic lane. Construction for this project is expected to take place Monday, June 17 through Monday, Oct. 14.
A public meeting for this project will be held Friday, June 7 at noon in Council Chambers located on the second floor of City Hall, 110 SE Watula Ave. The goal of this meeting is to inform residents and business owners about the road closures, detour routes and construction timeline associated with this project.
All necessary devices will be in place to redirect traffic. Construction will take place Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. During construction times travelers may experience delays, noise, dust and heavy equipment within the project area.
