Local group encouraging residents to quit smoking during ‘Great American Smokeout’

A local group is encouraging residents to quit smoking during the Great American Smokeout on Thursday, November 21.

The observance, which is recognized annually by the national Tobacco Free organization, is facilitated locally by the Quitdoc Foundation and is an effort to help residents develop a plan to quit smoking.

The foundation will host two open house sessions on Thursday, November 21 in order to educate those in attendance on smoking cessation, lung cancer screening and awareness. The morning session will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., with a second session from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Both sessions will be held at the AdventHealth Ocala dining room.

For more information on the program, visit the Quitdoc Foundation website.
