Woman gives police her sister’s name while being arrested with friend

Kelcie Bernice Bickford

Two Ocala women, including one who told police she was her sister, were arrested on a drug charges during a traffic stop early Thursday.

Kelcie Bernice Bickford, 31, said her name was Kimberly Ann Bickford and gave Kimberly’s birthdate after being pulled over in a Dodge minivan with a Georgia license tag for failing to stop behind the stop bar at the intersection of SW 2nd Street and SW 23rd Avenue, according to the Ocala Police report.

However, a jail identification card and Florida driver’s license with the name “Kelcie Bickford” were found in her purse as the vehicle was being searched for drugs. She admitted that Kimberly Bickford is her sister’s name, the report said.

Two crack pipes, both with residue inside them, multiple metal rods and a steel wool scouring pad were also found in the purse. The rods, known as “pushers,” are used to push crack inside crack pipes, while scouring pads are often used as filters in crack pipes. Together, these items are considered drug paraphernalia, according to the report.

Bickford was charged with giving a false name to law enforcement and possession of drug paraphernalia. She’s also being held in the Marion County Jail for numerous active warrants and her bond from a previous arrest was revoked. She’s being held without bond and will appear in Marion County Court on Jan. 28.

Also arrested was 24-year-old Lianna Grace Davis, who was a backseat passenger in the minivan. The vehicle was searched after a K-9 detected the presence of narcotics during an open-air sniff. A search of Davis’ purse turned up multiple syringes, including one with a small amount of a liquid that field tested positive for heroin, and several plastic bags containing a white powdery substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, and the report said.

A female officer assisted with the search and found a crack pipe and three ripped pieces of a plastic bag in Davis’ pants that contained a brown powdery substance that tested positive for heroin. Because the bag opened and caused Davis to be exposed to the heroin, she was checked by emergency medical services before being taken to jail, according to the report.

Davis was charged with possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released later Thursday on $5,000 bond. No court date was set.
