Marion County firefighters were called to a crash on Wednesday morning that left one victim entrapped in her heavily damaged vehicle.
Firefighters aboard Engine #16 were the first to arrive shortly before 9:30 a.m. at the two-vehicle collision near the intersection of SE Maricamp Road and Emerald Road in Silver Springs Shores. Additional crews arrived a short time later to assist in extricating the victim from her four-door Hyundai passenger vehicle.
The victim was declared a trauma alert and transported to a local hospital. Neither her name nor her condition has been released.
