On Top of The World CEO cites ‘$100 million’ annual impact in Marion County

On Top of The World makes an annual impact in Marion County that now exceeds $100 million, according to CEO Ken Colen.

During Wednesday morning’s monthly exCEPtional Morning meeting hosted by the Ocala/Marion Chamber and Economic Partnership, Colen provided details on the programs and associated investments that have made a positive financial impact in Marion County.

“On Top of The World pays about $4 million each year in property taxes,” said Colen, adding that the organization also made a commitment to Marion County in the amount of $27 million to improve SW 80th Avenue.

Colen credited much of the organization’s success to his staff’s attentiveness and connection with the community. Each week, the company pays over $500,000 in payroll, and millions more in ongoing construction costs.

“The real take away here, is that between fuel tax, sales tax, property taxes, construction expenses, impact fees and permitting fees, we have a $100 million impact a year on Marion County,” said Colen.
