Earth Fare shuts down Ocala location

Earth Fare has officially shut down its Ocala location.

The closure of the business, which is located at 2405 SW 27th Ave Ste 101, comes as part of a nationwide shut down of all 50 of its stores.

The company announced the closures at the beginning of February. Employees from the Ocala Earth Fare were told of the store’s closing just minutes before the news broke nationally on February 3.

The news last month came in the midst of construction of a new Earth Fare location in The Villages that was abruptly stopped.

Earlier this year, the organic and natural grocer announced that they would close Indianapolis-area locations in Carmel, Noblesville and Greenwood. All three locations were under 8-years-old.

“Earth Fare has been proud to serve the natural and organic grocery market, and the decision to begin the process of closing our stores was not entered into lightly” said the company’s press release last month.

For those looking for alternative shopping options to Earth Fare, the similarly named Earth Origins on East Silver Springs Boulevard provides a slate of healthy options.
