Two women found themselves behind bars recently after a theft was reported at a local minimart.
A sheriff’s deputy responded to the Sunshine Food Mart, located at 3928 W. Silver Springs Blvd., and was told that two women had stolen merchandise. The deputy’s investigation led him to the Days Inn, located at 3620 W. Silver Springs Boulevard, where he saw the suspect vehicle pull into the parking lot and he performed a traffic stop.

Lakiesha Renee Wilson, 32, and Alexis Marie Horn, 21, were in the vehicle and both were arrested. Methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located in property belonging to Wilson and methamphetamine was found in Horn’s belongings, a sheriff’s office report states.
Both were transported to the Marion County Jail. Wilson, of Lake Panasoffkee, was charged with larceny/petit theft, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana not more than 20 grams and possession of drug equipment. She was released on $4,500 bond and her next court date hasn’t yet been set, jail records show.
Horn, of Warner Robins, Ga., was charged with possession of methamphetamine and larceny/petit theft. She was being held on $2,500 bond and is due in court Aug. 25 at 9 a.m.
