A 50-year-old Ocala woman was jailed after she allegedly punched her roommate’s boyfriend several times after being told she couldn’t use his car, then fought with the deputies who arrested her.
Hallie Lyn Tucker, 50, of 304 Bahia Trak, was charged with simple battery and resisting an officer without violence after the incident, which happened at her residence around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
Tucker’s roommate told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that Tucker asked her to take her vehicle and became irate when she said no. She said Tucker screamed for both of them to get out of the house. Tucker’s roommate said she and the victim were collecting their belongings when Tucker came into the bedroom and struck him several times in the face, according to the sheriff’s office report.
Tucker’s roommate said she and the victim were able to get away from Tucker and flee to the Circle K store at 4605 Maricamp Road, where she called law enforcement. The victim does not reside with the two women at the residence, the report said.
The victim said Tucker and his girlfriend got into a verbal argument over the vehicle he owns. He said the first time Tucker came into the bedroom, she asked to borrow the vehicle but was told no. The victim said Tucker became irate and told them to get out of the house, according to the report.
The victim said Tucker then let the room, but later came back and said she was going to “beat his ass” before striking him in the face with her phone and fists. The deputy observed red marks on the victim’s face. The victim said when he was backpedaling away from Tucker, he scraped his arm on the door frame, causing a long surface cut on his right forearm. He declined medical attention, the report said.
Tucker told the deputy no physical altercation had taken place. She said she asked to use the car, but when told no, she told her roommate and the victim she was owed money and they needed to relinquish the vehicle. While speaking, Tucker’s speech was slurred and she kept saying she and the dog she was holding had nothing to do with this incident, according to the report.
When asked about the remarks on the victim, Tucker became agitated and started yelling that he was lying. She said after she asked for the vehicle the first time, she didn’t say anything to the victim and his girlfriend and they left on their own accord, the report said.
The deputy told Tucker the story was not consistent with the victim’s injuries, and she continued to insist she didn’t hit the victim. The deputy told Tucker she was not free to leave and would be coming with the deputies, and that she needed to collect her shoes and phone to take with her, according to the report.
Tucker walked into the master bedroom and tried to slam the door in two deputies’ faces. The deputies entered the bedroom to place her under arrest, and they saw several empty containers of Four Loko malt liquor, as well as an open container that contained some of the alcoholic beverage, the report said.
Tucker was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was still being held Sunday on $2,000 bond. She will appear in Marion County Court on Sept. 30.
