Upcoming lane closures expected along S.E. Watula Avenue

Motorists in Ocala should expect lane closures along S.E. Watula Avenue in the coming weeks.

The closures will take place beginning Monday, Nov. 2 to accommodate a road resurfacing project between State Road 40 and S.E. Eighth Street. Construction is expected to last through February 2021.

The project will be completed in phases over the next few months and motorists should anticipate interruptions to the regular flow of traffic where these resurfacing projects are taking place.

SE Watula Avenue detours:

• Northbound traffic: Left turn on S.E. Fifth Street, right turn on S.E. First Avenue, right turn on E. Silver Springs Boulevard, back onto S.E. Watula Ave.
• Southbound traffic: Right turn on S.E. Broadway Street, left turn on S.E. Osceola Avenue, right turn on W. Fort King Street, left turn on S.E. Magnolia Avenue, left turn on S.E. Fifth Street, back onto S.E. Watula Avenue.

Fort King St. detours:

• Westbound traffic: Right turn on S.E. Tuscawilla Ave., left turn on S.E. Broadway Street, left turn on S.E. Osceola Avenue, back onto E. Fort King Street.
• Eastbound traffic: Left turn on S.W. First Avenue, right turn on E. Silver Springs Boulevard, right turn on S.E. Tuscawilla Avenue, back onto E. Fort King Street.

Visitors to City Hall, located at 110 SE Watula Ave., may use the north parking lot, accessible only from Fort King Street. Additional free parking is available daily at the downtown parking garage located at 296 S.E. Broadway St.
