Ocala woman claims $1,000,000 Florida Lottery prize with ticket purchased at Walmart

An Ocala woman claimed a $1,000,000 prize from the Florida Lottery recently after cashing in a ticket she purchased at a local Walmart.

The Florida Lottery made the announcement through a press release that Mercedes Santiesteban, 50, of Ocala, claimed a $1,000 a Week for Life prize in the multi-state Draw game, CASH4LIFE®, from the May 19, 2021 drawing at the Gainesville District Office.

Santiesteban chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,000,000.00.

Santiesteban purchased her winning CASH4LIFE ticket from Walmart Liquor Box, located at 4980 East Silver Springs Boulevard in Ocala. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning CASH4LIFE ticket.

Santiesteban is the second big winner among Ocala residents in the past month.

Earlier this year, Moichen Lamadrid Chang claimed a $2 million prize just last month after purchasing a winning ticket from the Winn-Dixie located at 184 Marion Oaks.

This popular multi-state game offers two lifetime prizes, with the chance to win $1,000 a Day for Life or $1,000 a Week for Life. Florida is the ninth state to join CASH4LIFE.
